Yesterday was Goomba’s 3 month birthday! Yay!
So in honor of his birthday, I give you some recent pictures of the little guy.
I know it is super corny to take his picture with a month sign, but get over it. I think it will be fun to see how quickly he is growing from month to month 🙂
Goomba loves taking baths.
So very wrinkly.
When he looks at you like this – you literally can not say no.
Getting ready to attack …
Goomba just hanging out on the couch, but looking like he is up to know good.
A and I took Goomba for a walk this past weekend. Goomba loved it. It was like a two mile loop – so I am impressed that he made it the whole way! Goomba loved all the attention he was getting from other people walking as well as the other dogs.
Of course I am a dummy, and forgot to bring water for him. Terrible mother I know. Luckily there were a couple of water fountains. So we legit picked him up, and had him licking water from the water fountain. Don’t worry – there was no contact with him and the water fountain, we kept it sanitary for people. This also made for a hilarious picture.
Happy 3 months Goomba! 🙂
Some random thoughts for Friday.
Yesterday I taught Goomba how to sit. It was epic. And I was in shock. A came home and couldn’t believe it. Our little piranha gets so excited when we have a treat in our hand to try and teach him something, so it seems like he doesn’t understand what we are saying. But somehow I got through to him yesterday.
A just sent me a remake of Calvin Harris’ “Flashback”.
Wow is this guy talented. Definitely rocking out to this in my office right now.
This weekend is another traveling weekend for us. I have a girlfriend’s bachelorette party down at Mohegan Sun in CT. I have nothing to wear either. Which means I need to go do some shopping between now and tomorrow afternoon.
Here is the original Calvin Harris song from above. The video is kind of crazy. I am kind of hoping my weekend at the Casino turns out being similar to the video 🙂
First of all, I want to say congrats to all my friends who ran in the Boston marathon yesterday. Running a marathon is difficult enough, but running it in record heat, I would have probably passed out.
This weekend I went home to visit my parents and they got to meet little Goomba. I also went to visit my best friend. She has a little miniature pinscher – Zoey. It was quite hilarious watching the two of them run around play together. Zoey was actually afraid of Goomba and would run away – man can that thing run. I wouldn’t have been able to catch her even if I wanted to. So of course there was no way Goomba baby was going to be catching him, but Goomba was smart and used some strategy to try to catch her.
This is probably my most favorite picture ever. Goomba looks sooo ferocious 🙂
And here is another one of G baby just running around in the yard
It was nice because where we live, there is not a ton of room to just run around. We have to constantly keep him on a leash. But out in Western Mass, everyone has huge yards, so it was perfect for little Goomba to just get out and run around like crazy. What was also great about it, was that he slept like a baby after that.
I also got to see my baby cousin this weekend. It has been awhile. I love this little guy. He has a baby brother or sister on the way – I am hoping for godmother status! haha. This little guy is the biggest 2-year-old I have ever seen. But he is so good. And so photogenic!
This weekend was also big, because two of A and I’s very good friends came home from Afghanistan! They are in the marines, and left just two days after our wedding! We didn’t think they would be able to make it, they were down in South Carolina getting ready to be deployed, but they got a weekend leave and were able to come up for it.
They finally came home this weekend – safe and sound. So on Saturday, I was in CT celebrating their return. It was great to see them and I am so happy that they are back with their friends, family, and significant others.
In honor of them, and all the many other soldiers out there right now fighting for our freedom, I just wanted to say thank you. May we all take a little time out of our busy days to remember those that have lost their lives fighting for us, and those that are over there fighting for us right now.
So Goomba finally came home. YAY! And I love him to pieces. He is the cutest little thing. But having a puppy means there is an extreme lack of sleep.
Here are a couple of pictures of the little nugget from this weekend..
So I apologize for the lack of posting.
Puppies are EXHAUSTING. We got him on Thursday night, and played with him for a while. Of course he got tired and ended up falling asleep on me. But when we put him in his crate to go to sleep for the night, he started crying. And crying. And wouldn’t stop crying. And he eventually started with a little bit of barking in between the crying and whining. It was so sad. A was always an absolutely no dog in the bed guy, and Thursday night, he actually said “now I know why people allow their dogs to sleep in the bed”. Don’t worry. No dogs in the bed here.
Thank goodness we had Friday off. We wanted to spend some time with him and get started on training him. We were so exhausted so I am very thankful that we had the day off. We spent much of the weekend training him, as well as a few visits from friends and family that wanted to meet the little guy.
Monday morning rolled around, and we needed to get ready for work. Boy does it take longer to get out of the house when you have a puppy. You have to feed him, obviously, and then wait a bit for him to have to go to the bathroom, and of course he wants to play. We are crating him, so when we left we put him in his crate and he kind of just looked at us with these sad eyes.
I went home at lunch, and found him crying. And he had pee’d in the crate, because puppies bladders are small and he just couldn’t hold it all that time. It was so sad. So I fed him, and then decided to take him with me back to work for the rest of the afternoon. I have my own office and my boss is pretty easy-going so I was able to. And he was pretty good. See for yourself
Yesterday evening we didn’t have any accidents in the house which was amazing. And he actually slept in his crate pretty well. Woke up a few times at night whining because he had to pee, but once we brought him out to do that he went back in his crate to sleep.
Goomba has an issue with peeing inside. He is great about pooping outside, but does not want to pee out there (and if it had to be one or the other I am glad it’s the pooping he does outside!). We will sit outside forever waiting for him to pee, and he won’t, but the second we bring him inside he goes. We have tried putting pads outside to get him to pee on those, but that doesn’t work either. Super frustrating. Last night he was a little better thankfully, but I am not sure if it was just luck.
Any thoughts out there on how we can get a puppy to want to pee outside, and not inside. It would be greatly appreciated. 🙂
Someone’s got a case of the Mondays.
It was a long busy weekend, with lots of driving. But that is what A and I do. We are off driving somewhere to see someone every weekend.
There will be no driving this weekend though. I am looking forward to this coming weekend because …. GOOMBA comes home. A and I have Friday off, and we will be spending the entire weekend with the little guy and getting him used to us and the apartment.
Here are a couple new pictures. He’s getting so big so fast.
Tell me he is not the cutest thing you have ever seen.
Well it is Monday, and like most week days, I need music to get me through the work day. I decided to make Mondays Music Monday’s, and post my current favorite song or some new stuff that I might have heard over the weekend. Real original, I know. Get over it, I did.
Today’s music comes to you from Dada Life. Never been to a concert, but they have a fetish with bananas – and since I am not a fan of bananas whatsoever, I am not sure I want to go. But that doesn’t mean I can’t jam out to their tunes.
On second thought, even though I might be too old for this kind of thing, it did look pretty wild and fun. I guess I could give a concert a shot. Just keep the bananas away from me.
There is also a vocal version of the above song which is just as good.
Happy listening 🙂
